Q. What is PWC Gives!?

PWC Gives! is a day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.  PWC Gives! is an initiative of the Prince William County Community Foundation.


Q. Is online giving an unknown quantity?

Not really… Since 2012, it has been a growing industry with over $105 billion of online donations in 2020.


Q. What is expected from participating organizations??

Aside from a registration fee- based on annual revenue from last year- each organization provides one or more volunteers who will be responsible for the organization’s solicitation and advertising and participating in one to two GiveGab-sponsored training sessions to establish the organization’s specific PWC Gives! web page and to put together the organization’s promotion plan.


Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through the PWC Gives! online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


Q. Do participating organizations lose the ability to impact the scope of their outreach efforts?

No, not at all.  As a matter of fact, each organization exercises complete autonomy when it comes to engaging with their respective giving audiences. Each nonprofit uses tailorable messaging to inform targeted donors of the upcoming opportunity to give directly to them during PWC Gives!


Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating nonprofit will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 5-7 business days.


Q. How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?

GiveGab retains a 3.5% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded. Any donations processed outside of PWC Gives! donation period, through GiveGab.com, or subsequent recurring donations are subject to transaction fees outlined on the GiveGab.com pricing page: http://info.givegab.com/pricing.


Q. Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.


Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit https://www.pwcgives.org on your mobile device.


Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for PWC Gives!?

You cannot pre-schedule your PWC Gives! gift, but you may make a donation to a participating nonprofit before or after the PWC Gives!. In order for your donation to be counted towards prize incentives awarded on PWC Gives! it must be made between 9 AM on September 9, 2021 and 9 AM September, 10, 2021.


Q. What if my preferred organization is not listed?

Please send an email to info@givegab.com to request that we contact your organization of choice.


Q. Can participating organizations link their respective website to the PWC Gives! landing page?  

Yes, so it is important that each organization identifies an individual who can attend the training on designing and linking their specific page that will be used during PWC Gives!


Q. Will participating organizations receive a written report of all transactions captured during PWC Gives!?

Yes, GiveGab will provide written documentation to all participating organizations within thirty business days after the end of PWC Gives!


Q. How is marketing and recruitment conducted?

Each organization will utilize its own contact lists to inform and remind potential donors of their opportunity to make contributions to them via the PWC Gives! URL. The Prince William County Community Foundation will conduct county-wide advertising to generate additional participation from the business, academic and community populations across Prince William County.

Q. What are some of the resources organizations have access to through participation in PWC Gives!?

Live and on-demand training videos / Getting Started Guides / Help Center Articles / Planning Guide / Communications Timelines / An Ultimate Guide to Giving Day Success e-Book / Assistance in developing a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser option/ Email Marketing Templates / Social Media Tips, and Downloadable Graphics.

Q. How can I ensure my organization receives its donations?

In order to receive your donations via ACH transfer, GiveGab requires a checking account eligible to receive ACH transfers and withdrawals. Your donations will be deposited within 5-7 business days on a daily rolling basis.

If your organization supplies the wrong type of bank account (such as a savings account), or the wrong account numbers, GiveGab will be in touch! After 30 days, if GiveGab hasn't heard from your organization, they will refund your gifts back to your donors.
